As ugly as this car was it was a Godsend to our family. After Jory's brother Kevan had used this car with his family for many years he had it sitting in his backyard not using it and decided to give it to Cody, who was in his second year of college. It served Cody well until Cody decided he didn't want to worry about the gas, insurance and other monetary woes. At this same time Jory's truck had died and we needed a vehicle for him, so the purple car came to live with us. During this whole time we were sure that the car would die at any time since it is around 20 years old. When Jacob left for college he took it with a hope and a prayer that it would just get him to Ephraim. It almost made it the whole school year but unfortunately wouldn't pass inspection in January, which is sad because it is driving better than ever now. We debated what to do with it and the thought of just giving it to the kidney foundation crossed our minds but Jory checked around and CarMax said they would buy it. When we went in to CarMax Jory explained to them that we were hoping to get around $300 for it. They came back and offered us $500. Yipee!!! We gladly took the money and will put it towards our farewell family vacation before Jacob heads off on his mission. We will be forever grateful for this car that was like the energizer bunny and kept on going, helping us through difficult times.

So Long, Farewell Good Friend

That is great you got so much money out of that car! What a tender mercy it has been for you! We hope to find a car similar to that when Blake turns 16 next year. I can't even believe we have to worry about it.
