Easter Weekend Fun

Well ---- guess who had to have baby chicks too? Devan came home for the weekend and wanted to build a chicken coop for his and Cody's chicks. Camron couldn't be left out of the fun so he began to build a coop as well. That meant we needed chickens, so off we went to buy Chippy, Jenny, Sally and Henry (short for Henrietta because we don't want a rooster!) Camron has worn himself out caring for them. They get cleaned and cared for twice a day. We discussed what to do about their care during our upcoming family vacation and Camron has decided that he won't be able to go. No one would be capable of caring for the chickens as well as him! These chicks are very loved! They live in the kitchen for now in a clear rubbermaid large container. They have to be kept warm so we have a lamp on them for several more weeks. Right now they are very cute and not bad to have around. I've heard that changes quickly. Thanks for getting this wave of chicken farming going Cody! Actually, Grandpa says that Papa Joe's father was a large chicken farmer, so I guess it runs in the blood.

The rest of the weekend was spent building and eating and eating and eating! Friday night we had Madi and Ashley sleep over and color eggs with us. I was glad to have their girl enthusiasm around because none of the boys were interested in coloring eggs. They make everything more fun - thanks girls. Monday was my birthday, so of course we ate more yummy food and enjoyed family. Thanks everyone for the gifts and kind thoughts. I love you all! Happy Easter - may spring QUICKLY come!
